సురేష్,కౌసల్య అనే ఇద్దరు ప్రేమికులు పెళ్ళి చేసుకోవాలని భావిస్తారు.అయితే వారి  ప్రేమకు కౌసల్య తండ్రి చిదంబరం అనుమతించడు.కచ్చితంగా  తన ప్రేయసి తండ్రి అనుమతితోనే కౌసల్యను వివాహమాడాలని సంకల్పించుకుంటాడు సురేష్.మరి అతని ప్రేమకథ ఎలాంటి మలుపు తిరిగిందో తెలుసుకోవాలంటే " శివుడు" చిత్రం చూడాల్సిందే.
