17 ആം വയസ്സില്‍ വൈധവ്യം അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടി വന്ന ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണയുവതി സമൂഹത്തില്‍ നിന്നും അകന്ന ജീവതം നയിക്കുന്നുഒരു കഥകളി കലാകാരന്‍ അവരുമായി ബന്ധം സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും എന്നാല്‍ അതിലുണ്ടായ കുഞ്ഞിന്‍റെ പിതൃത്വം ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ വിസമ്മതിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നുതുടര്‍ന്ന് അവര്‍ കുടുബത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പുറത്താക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

A seventeen-year-old widow, Unnimaya, who was married to an old man, is secluded by the community. She falls in love with, Madhavan, a Kathakali artist, but problems arise when she becomes pregnant.
