ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಮಗಳು ಮಾಲತಿ (ಲೀಲಾವತಿ) ಹಾಗೂ ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಸೈನಿಕ ಮಾಧವ (ರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್) ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಜೈಲಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಹೇಗೋ ಜೈಲಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಾಯಕಿ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ನಾಯಕನನ್ನೂ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅಷ್ಟೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ರಾಜ ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
