സമ്പന്ന കുടുംബത്തിലെ ഇളയ മകനായ രാജു ജർമ്മനിയിൽ ശൂന്യാകാശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഗവേഷണത്തിലായിരുന്നു. അമ്മ മരിച്ച വിവരം രാജുവിനെ തത്സമയം അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. പിന്നീട് ഇക്കാര്യമറിഞ്ഞ രാജു മാനസികമായി തകരുന്നു. വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം വിവാഹിതനായ രാജു വീണ്ടും പഴയ അവസ്ഥയിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നു. രാജുവിനെ തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ഭാര്യ അശ്വതി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.
