ബാല്യകാല സുഹൃത്തുക്കളായ വരദരാജനും സഞ്ജയനും ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസര്‍മാരാണ്. ഭാവയാമിയെ രണ്ടു പേര്‍ക്കും ഇഷ്ടമായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും അവര്‍ക്ക് താത്പര്യം തോന്നിയത് വരദരാജനോടായിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഭാവയാമിയും വരദരാജനും വിവാഹിതരാകുന്നു. അതോടെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുവായിത്തീരുന്ന സഞ്ജയന്‍ വരദരാജന്‍റെയും ഭാവയാമിയുടെയും ജീവിതം ദുരിതത്തിലാക്കുന്നു.
